I know, appliance stores, but my neighbor that was going to get it for me said No, none found. I guess we live too far out in the sticks...v

You can make them yourself. Cut a piece of soft sheet metal- like the kind that holds the gas manifold to the stove- and pound it into a smooth strip about two inches long and a little less than 1/2 inch wide. On the bottom third of it, shape it into a v. This is the section that will go into the oven hole. Fold the whole strip into an s shape. You can kind of press the metal around the tube to get a good snug fit. I think they work better than the originals. Hope this makes sense and happy blacksmithing.

Ms. V, I can check at my local appliance store, as long as you're not in a hurry (probably be next week some time.) The elderly gents who run the store are always good for a laugh when I go in - they think I'm nuts to be restoring my ol' Chambers electric oven - when I was in there the other day buying wire, they told me I "need a hobby"!!
